Hey everyone, I have a 2008 mazda b3000 2wd manual. My plan is to convert it into a prerunner/off road hoon truck. I have got as far as to get a general idea of what I need and how I want to do it but was curious if I could get some guidance on what im fully going to need. I want to swap in a 5.0 V8 from an explorer and mate it to a manual transmission with a transfer case. I am going to pick up a 4wd long travel suspension kit from FOA. Can I swap in a front diff from a 4.0 4wd and mate that to what I assume will be a 2000 F150 transmission or will i need something else altogether. for the rear end I am going to keep leafs but swap in a set of f-31 deavers. Is there a rear diff and driveshaft pair i can put in so i can run a wider axle to match the front track width more or less that also has the ability to lock. once this is all set and done with a proper engine and roll cage im going to do a fibreglass body kit and fit some 35s maybe 37s with beadlocks. if anyone has done something similar, some help would be greatly appreciated.

If your truck has coil springs in the front you cant just swap in 4wd stuff.

And if you are fabricating you can probably come up with something better than stock 4wd suspension stuff.

for refrence the truck is the torsion bar suspension system. Everything is the same as the 4wd including the frame. only difference are the knuckle's and additional 4wd parts. I just did some more looking into front long travel kits and it sounds like btf might be a better way to go. Essentially im going to be converting to 4wd and turning it into a prerunner at the same time.

That is different, most 2wd's are coil sprung which greatly complicates the 4wd conversion. Carry on. :icon_thumby:
