So i'll start off with that i have a 1996 ranger 3.0 v6 4x4. I'm trying to accomplish the "pre-runner" look. I'm having a hard time figuring out what i need to do for suspension. I don't have thousands of dollars to spend on long travel suspension so i need to go for a cheaper route. I know the words cheap and pre-runner don't go well together but i'm giving it a shot. I'm also figuring out that it's a lot harder and more expensive to be doing all this to a 4 wheel drive. I'm wishing i would have got a 2 wheel drive ranger but oh well.
I've heard lots of people talk about putting F150 leafs in the rear and doing some sort of shock or coilover setup in the front. I won't be jumping the truck anytime soon or doing any insane off roading. I know its pretty fanboy me to just want the look of a pre-runner and i'm sure i'll get some crap for it but it's what i want for now. lol
So if anyone has some insight on how i can accomplish the look please let me know. I'll add a few pictures below so you can see the look i'm trying to accomplish. Thanks in advance.

It is rather "fan boyish" but whatever let the haters hate do what you like. here what I would do to start.

Body
-Fiberglass fenders front and rear (check out the tech section for different brands and looks)
-Some kind of front skid plate.
- LED light bar or Large off road lights (I have had great luck with my $100 EBAY 52in light bar but I resealed it)
-Go fast Stickers
-Front and rear tube bumpers

Front suspension
-Coil spacers to lift the front a little.
-wheel spacers to make the front tires stick out farther then the back (for the long travel look)

Rear suspension
-Chevy leaf swap and shackle flip (doesn't look any different but rides great is cheap and very good upgrade over stock you can find info in the tech section)
-Paint your rear diff cover something flashy

Wheels/tires
-large tires maybe 33x12.5s or 35s something wide is good
-offset wheels to make it stick out more.

That's all I cant really think of besides fiberglass and tires everything else is very cheap and you will have a good looking decent functioning truck.:icon_thumby:

Paint fenders and bedsides white so people know its fiberglass
