If an inch makes a difference, a locker makes 3x the difference. I'd much sooner go back to 31s than give up my lockers, doesn't matter what vehicle.... not true at all. We are talking about a long wheelbase ranger correct? Not a short wheelbase bII? 33 vs 31s are a hell of a difference for something that is as long as a ranger. Some of you guys are making it sound like I think lockers don't help or anything, or they aren't good. Of course lockers are amazing, but in his situation, I think 33s would be a bigger benefit. 31s vs 33s on a bii or wrangler are not that big of a difference. On a ranger, it makes a pretty big difference. Not to mention if he drives it on the road everyday. When I sold my lockright to fund my new axle and gears it wasn't exactly fun to drive for the short time I had it on the road (at least with a manual trans). and if 1" isn't that much, there is only a 2" difference between 31s and 35s..... try taking something with 31s where something with 35s will go. Trust me, an inch makes a difference
And the difference in breakover angle is a lot bigger by changing tire size on a short wheelbase vehicle than a long one, so there goes that argument.
