power steering pump

the last time i took the power steering pump off the tube thingy on the back came out of the pump, instead of the bolt like thing coming outta the nut on the pump, and i couldnt get them apart to put the pump back together, then a spring came out that went around the valve... if u understood ne of this, could u tell me do i need this spring or not, bcuz the pumps got 500 miles on it and i cant find the spring. the connections went together fine without the spring though

thats the pressure spring, you took the pressure reuglator apart basically, you have to hold the bigger nut with another wrench to get the line off somtimes.

yeah kinda figured that out after words and i still cant get them off so can i go to a hardware store and buy a spring or wtf do i do?

guess i need to make a trip to the junk yard for a spring
