It appears that it is a press fit on the shaft. book mentions needing (T69L-10300-B or equivalent pulley removal tool)

and (T65P-3A733-C) to replace the pulley back on when going back together.

Yep.............got to have the puller and install tool.
I think you can get one at the Zone using their loan a tool program.

dang it, dad blast it, why can't they make it easy every once in a while to work on these things:annoyed:, my poor hands and arms took a beating from just trying to get the donor tranny out of the junkyard:sad:

oh well, a day bad working on my BII and Ranger is still better then a good day at work.:icon_thumby:

I had to buy the auto parts equiv. of the factory tool. It was called an OEM model 25190 from auto zone.

Even with this heavy duty tool the pulley barely came off, popping and screeching all the way even after being hosed down with wd40. Also be sure to clean the shaft good and remove any burrs and the pulley will go back on much easier.

You will need 2 tools a p-steering pulley remover & installer . . . both can be had for around $15 each and are worth their weight in gold . . . the proper tools are soooo much better!
