2.3L ('83-'97) Power steering pressure switch issue

1992 ranger 2.3. I noticed the power steering pressure switch was leaking out of the electrical connection so I replaced it took it for a drive and it's leaking again already out of the connector... could this be a bad part or is the line pressure to high?

This reminds me when I thought I had a leak on my high pressure line going in the steering box. Wet all around the fitting where it went in the box. Got a new line, it still leaked. Changed the line again, it still leaked. Finally found out the pump was leaking around the seal behind the pulley. The oil ran down the front of the pump, made it's way to the rear of the pump and at just the right place, it dripped right onto the fitting on the power steering box. That was very frustrating till I figured that out.

If you can clean it up really good, maybe you can sit there with the engine running and make sure it is leaking from the sensor.

I second that plan. I also wouldn't be surprised if new switches are just that poorly constructed.

Have you solved this?

Def clean up everything as much as possible to the point where you'd notice new fluid slop after the cleaning. What have you done to determine it was leaking there as opposed to other spots?

When my sensor was leaking, I merely replaced the o-ring. I eye balled the size, and used a ring that I got from a kit at Advance. Perhaps you didn't tighten it enough? I don't recall if there is a torque spec, but I know I went easy on it.
