I have a 1993 ranger, 3.0V6, auto. i just changed all my steering components, then i noticed i had alot of lash in the steering so I loosend up the lock nut and tightened the screw on my steering box all the way till i felt it starting to get snug then backed it out a little bit. then went to get it aligned. steering feels great but as soon as i adjusted the steering i got a power steering leak coming from the pitman arm. why could this be? should I back out the srew some more???

When you adjusted it, the sector shaft moves. You probably found a rough spot with the seal and now its leaking.

if i add lucas stop leak do you think it will stop the leak? or do I have to back the bolt out a little?

If the seal is cut it's done.

Needs to be replaced, might even need a new steering box.

if i get a rebuild kit would that fix it. i heard the rebuild kits are around $20 compared to a $150 reman steering box.

With a reman you get a warranty. With the rebuild kit you get a headache if it still leaks.
