My credo
well... this probably won't explode.
so I've read several threads on PSF vs. ATF and people seem to think mixing the 2 isnt a good idea.

i have a slow leak somewhere and figured id spend the extra couple bucks and try the "leak repair" type fluid before i start putting in ACTUAL effort :D. My question is: would i buy the Power Steering repair or the Automatic Transmission Repair? ATF is recommended for my year (94) but the fluid in the truck has a dark orange color so im assuming it has PSF in it (previous owner?). Which type would be recommended and would any combination of these result in catastrophe? :icon_confused:

Actually now that I'm looking at it in sunlight, it looks more like atf than psf (though it could be a mix?) In any case my question remains

I keep a qt bottle of Dex-Merc under the hood to top off the pump when it starts whirring. The Rat has a weepy steering box. Rust prevention :D
