Have a 2003 Ranger, the power lock button on the drivers side will lock passenger door , but will not open it. Everything else about the power locks work.
The key fob will open and lock both doors. The driver lock button will open and lock the drivers door. The passenger button opens and locks both doors. But the driver side button will lock the passenger door, but not unlock the passenger door. Whats going on?

I do know from my experience that the lock swithces and the key fob all work independently of each other so try taking you passenger switch out and put it in the drivers side to see if both functions work. If it works properly you have a bad switch, if not double check your wiring from the drivers door to the passenger one and make sure there is no crimped wire or loose connection.

It's not your wiring, its your passenger switch, the neutral position is bad, not allowing current to "flow" through to lock the motor. If the motor unlocks, then the motor is good, as reversing the polarity makes the motor unlock, switching it again makes it lock :icon_thumby:

what if both switches work fine, the key fob works, but when u try to lock, the locks barely move? after hitting it several times they move less until they rest like dead. they wont open either

sorry to hijack.

If I'm reading this right, the locks work as usual both lock and unlock with the remote, but are slow to work with the switches, correct?? I would still check for resistance/continuity at rest as well as each direction on both switches independantly. The KES control module sends a lock signal to the relay, which sends current to lock or unlock, respectively, "through" the switches to the motors. Check the PDL/PW fuse for poor contact as well as power feeding the switches at the plugs for poor contact.

My program says it's a negative pulse door lock system, so you will have to check for ground, not power. You may also have to check the relays as well. It is possible you have dirty contacts in the relay(s)
