I'm doing a power door swap on my Ranger, including windows, locks and mirrors. Can I swap my current lock mechanism into the power doors so my current keys open it? Anything else I should know about it?

Yeah you can. Look in the door jam section of the door. Near the cylinder lock, there is a tab, pry this tab out and the cylinder will release. Before you can remove it, you have to remove the rod connecting to the back side. Once you release the rod, the cylinder now can be removed.

I want to do this, please do a write up on what you did to hook it all up. around here power doors go for $600 a piece!

I found doors, 480 for both, complete. Just happen to be red like my truck. Gonna actually look at em Saturday. I'm almost about to do a 4.0 SOHC swap, should they still work? Are there other parts i need besides the doors and their wiring harness?

sarasota fl! ill be down their the end of april!!!! as far as swappin power... i just did a sohc swap into my 95 ranger and did a 00 body swap.. the dash harness looked like all the wires were theire.. well for power mirrors it is.. locks and windows its not.. the relay box doesnt have the wires going to it nor does the pass side.. so we ended up making our own harness.. ran a fused wire off batt and 3 wires to the pass side and power windows work.. still working on getting locks to work. you can put power in your current doors.. 480 seems STEEP just to swap.. all you need is the wiring harness, window regulator, and lock actuator and it all swaps over no problem.

It's great here! Lol. The locks don't work period or they dont automatically lock?

Could i pull an explorer door harness and just plug it into power ranger doors? Explorers need to have something for their power doors. Would i need explorer door inards?

I see no reason for me to do a power window swap. I have roll down windows on almost all of my Jeeps and trucks and never had any issues with them. I do not have to spend a dime on them. Why the want or need to swap?? I would rather uyse the money for camping gear or buy another set of tires when the time comes.

I have power windows but a cheap aftermarket set. It would just be a nice upgrade
