Anybody know anything about power boats??? I'm working on a 1997 Baja Outlaw 32. It has two 454 chevys. The boat had sunk, and I am getting the wiring back in order. I really need to know if there are wiring schematics available for boats. Baja was sold to Fountain, and they do not have any information.

I have all the pumps working, and the gauges wired. The engine is wired, and we will find out in a couple of days if they will start. Distributors and timing were being done tonight. The wiring was hacked up before we got the boat. Also, the distributors are nothing like I have ever seen. It looks like they have ignition modules on the side of the dist., or I'm sure that's what they are, but they have a ton of wires going to them. Hopefully they are in pretty good shape as most were waterproof.

Wiring is laying around that has no place to go. I have most of the hard stuff done, but sure could use a schematic.:)shady

how much did you pick that up for

would be an AWESOME project with some very...exciting results

especially listening to those 454's ROAR wide open

do you know who built the engines? at work we marinize GM engines, is it Jet or I/O? if Jet look for stuff that says Kodiak Marine on it, if it does, there's a chance we can get wiring diagrams for ya...

It's not my boat. It belongs to the son of a man I do restorations for. He is a collector, and I keep his junk running.

It is an I/O. Engines are Mercruiser. I have all the necessary stuff working, pumps, starters, gauges, ignitions, and some of the lighting. The wiring has been modified, and in one case, cut out completely. I have one harness with relays that has absolutely no place that we can find to connect it to. I would like to have a diagram to put it back as close to original as possible. Thanks for your help.:)shady

I'll ask at work if we have any diagrams for '97 454's, I'm assuming they're carbed?

have you checked with mercruiser? they'd be the ones to ask, the boat manufacturer didn't wire the engines... the only thing the boat manufacturer would help on would be the ignition and the safety lights and gages...
