I have a 2000 ford ranger with the 4.0 automatic I was thinking of doing some stuff like power chip cold asir intake throttle body spacer and so on could anyone tell me what products work the best to get some more power any help would be great thanks

your opening a can of worms by asking this, try search at the top of the page, it will get you more than you could ever want to read about the things you listed

Start with forgetting about the spacer; they are little more than an expensive paper weight. Think of "air in/air out" first. A low restriction exhaust system (duals), a good air intake. These two areas will enhance anything else you do later.

You should look into a tuner. There are sacrifices though. Any real noticable power gains will be made using premium fuel. But a good tuner will also double as a basic shift kit in that the shifts will be firmer and you could potentially raise the shift point (but it won't do your 4.0L any favors unless you raise the power band).

On a 4.0L don't run dual exhaust if your main concern is power increase. A well thought out single exhaust mandrel bent 2.5" pipe will net you more power than a dual exhaust. Mind you, its no miracle though. We're looking at a 2-4hp increase...

Upon searching the forums, you will usually see things like
"Gears! Gearing is important because it multiplies the torque produced by the engine..."
"Routine maintenance and tune ups are important..."
Or the extremists "ENGINE SWAP!"

There are no cheap and easy 4.0 bolt on power gains to be had. You can waste a lot of money figuring this out but if you read the forums, it is all for naught. Unless you are willing to open the motor and do some real work, it will be better and more reliable to leave it stock. Your money though.

The ONLY thing a throttle body spacer is good for is if you wish
to create/install a Niitrous Oxide system and want someplace to
mount the fogger nozzle.

i just researched and picked up a free block in the means of building a mild motor but come to find out it will be cheaper to put in a v8 and make a ton more power IMO building a 4.0 is a waist of money

Not a bad idea...
