Posting pics and Avatars

Old dog, new tricks.
I looked around the site but I don't see any help.
I need to know how to post pictures here and how one goes about changing to a custom avatar.

Go up to where it says 'User CP'

Then look under your control panel on the left for options like avatar, signature, etc.

Also, you can go to the photo gallery and post pics:

and you can link pics with the img and /img tags.
