Well to start off I'm new to this forum, and am in need of help. I have an 01 xlt 4x4 off road. I swapped an explorer 31spline 8.8 in the rear, so that I could get disc brakes all around and ditch the old drum brakes (cheaper alternative then a drum to disc kit). What Deaver springs should I buy? The ones for rangers, or explorers? I believe either should work. But I'm hoping someone on here will know for sure.

Welcome to TRS! yes either set for explorer or ranger will work. from my understanding the ranger deavers give you 2.5" of lift. I also know that the stock leafs from explorers can lift from 2-2.5" when they're put on a ranger. the deavers for the explorer should add 4-5" of lift if all of that adds up in the way I think it does. I personally don't have any experience with deavers but I plan on getting a set of the G50's from Dixon Bros and I'd imagine the explorers and rangers perform the same so it depends on how high you want it.

IIRC the deavers are meant for inverted shackles on a ranger, thus netting no lift. That said, deavers are sick, wish I had the coin for a set. I ran durango leafs, they have lots of skinny leafs and netted be about 12 inches of vertical travel.

Thanks for the help guys. As of now the explorer axle is leafed over, and I added a pair of the belltach 6400 shackles when I did the swap. I do not want to invert the shackles either. If the Ranger Deavers will only give me 2-2.5 inches of lift as apposed to 4+ with the explorer Deavers, I think I'll go with the set for the Ranger. I also forgot to mention I have a body lift on the truck. That will be coming off once I buy the Longtravel kit from Dixon Brothers. However, I don't have that kind of money lying around the house. For now I'm just looking for something to give me some extra lift and strength and it sounds like the Deavers will do that.

Thanks for the help guys! I'm gonna do some researching of the tech section and past threads and decide which direction I should go with the front end. I look forward to learning some new things on here.
