Hello. I've been trying to track down my 2.9L V6 1987 Bronco II's electrical problems. While driving in street levels the car will randomly die, most notably when coming to a stop. I climbed down underneath and did some investigating. I found at least 5 issues and was hoping someone with more knowledge of this system could tell me what is damaged. Can't get new parts if I don't know what they're called.

1. Called: ???, Location: Above the starter motor and below the driver exhaust manifold.
2. Called: Starter relay cable (relay > starter). Ordered a new one of these.
3. Called: ???, Location: Connected to the O2 sensor
5. Called:???, Location: Going into the oil pan it seems, near the starter motor
6. Called: Oil pressure sending unit(?), location: Under and next to the oil pan. I think it's just the connector that needs fixing.

I'd love to hear your advice and thoughts. Just trying to learn more about cars as I work on mine.

So any plugs that need replaced are usually referred to as “pigtails”, so like the O2 sensor that has the bad wires coming out of the plug you would need the appropriate O2 sensor pigtail. Hard to tell how far the wires are bad, definitely would affect a few things that being bad. Off hand I’m not sure what some of the other stuff is, but I’d say the single wire with that blue rubber thing looks like an oil level sensor that goes in the pan. Not all motors had those.

1. Oil level sensor.
