i have an 86 2wd ranger and i want less of a limited slip. i want it to stop spinning only one tire. so is there a diffrent rear end that i can go with that will be the same width, or what type of gears can i put in the rear end??
thanks

will stronger axel shafts help that.

thanks but is that my only option

Or a detroit locker that's more expensive and harder to install. Or an axle swap for an 8.8 so you have more choices in lockers but it dies not matter what you do, you're going to spend money.

yea but is the 8.8 wider

Depends on the year and what you pull it out of.

all the 8.8 has is a diffrent splin and bigger brakes right?

Find yourself an 8.8" out of any '90-'92 4.0L Ranger with the stock Traction-Lok L/S. Same exact width as your stock axle, and should eliminate that one-wheel-peel (you can repack the L/S clutches to make it grip even tighter if you want as well). Except for possibly having to swap your driveshaft (or modify the pinion flange), it bolts right in.
