i decided to go play in the snow before it all melts. nothin spectacular, i still have the rear sway bar on there. the front one is gone but the front still looks really stiff.

Nice, I put regular blue bulbs in mine, worked for about a month now they're just white, pissed me off! Are those direct replacements or did you do something custom to mount/wire them?

they are a direct replacement. i got them on ebay, they were listed as a blue 194 led. just remember that they are a diode, so theres only one way they work. it took me forever to figure out why some of them worked and some didnt...

im pretty sure thats the reality of all ttb coils *shrug*

it doesnt help that i had to cut them to make them fit either... i wouldnt mind trying some softer coils but my truck is a daily driver...

Looks like they light it up pretty evenly. I've been looking at LED's for my dashboard for a while now, replacing the lights in the 94+ dash looks like a pain, I'd rather not do it again for a long while.

Out of curiosity, did you use either of these styles?

I haven't decided on which style to use yet. The single LED might be too dim while the 5 LED ones might be super bright.

any tips on doing that to a 89 ranger? do i have to pull the whole dash?

IIRC on the 89 its the same general idea as doing the gage cluster on a 88 different style dash but similar concept to get the gage cluster out

Captain Ledd: its pretty close to the second one you showed. its a single inverted cone led. 5 led's would be way too bright, actually the singles are already pretty bright. also, the dimmer hardly does anything at all now but im not suprised.

as for a 2nd gen, i dont have any ideas. i would assume you just need to figure out what bulb it takes (mine are 194's) and buy a replacement led that fits it. there should be no reason you'd have to pull the dash, mine only requires taking apart a little bit of trim before you get to it.

ebay

the price was decent but i waited for probably 2 weeks for them in the mail. i suppose thats what happens when they are coming from hong kong
