Whats the best way of polishing aluminum?
Valvue covers have dark spots.

Never - Dull

Mother's brand aluminum polish. there used to be a type that you just pulled this fiberglass like stuff out of the can and rubbed the aluminum. the stuff would turn black and you just tossed that and pinched out another piece. could not find that link tho.

Ranger850... that is Never - Dull

I agree with the Never Dull recommendation. If you want to keep them that way, you will either need to redo it every so often or use some sort of clear coat to prevent the oxidation and staining from coming back.

Aluminum oxidation is nearly impossible to stop, even with a good quality clear coat. The first tiny little nick the clearcoat gets, the oxidation starts. It's a quick and vicious cycle. Clear powder coat is pretty much the best solution I've seen so far on top of polished aluminum.

Idk, I just recently removed the clearcoat off my Alcoa rims and polished them and already they’re getting oxidation.

It doesn't take long for bare aluminum. Whatever they put on aluminum rims for protection is some tough stuff. Probably clear powder coat.
