i disagree, i know MANY firefighters who think they are cops... and, of course, think they are above the law...
I agree with you. We have some on the department I am on who think that because they have "blue lights" on their truck that they can do what they want. Had one running in excess of 80MPH (in a 30MPH zone) to a BS call in the turn lane. When we got back to the firehouse there was the local police with a ticket and his name on it. He tried to fight it....yep he lost. I am a Federal Officer and I know when to say when and am smart enough to figure it out, don't need to be another statistic on the road!
You'd like SVT, I've got more lights than a new York ambulance! Lol

Actually he quit cause we would not let up on him. We are very strict and want them to follow the speed limit when responding. If it is heavy traffic we advise not to run with lights on.He's lucky. I would have terminated him. EVOC states drive with due regard. its not a good idea to go more than 10 miles over the speed limit, especially in heavily populated areas...
