Can someone please tell me what this tube does and if i can unbolt the buckle without any problems?:icon_welder:

I believe if triggered it locks your seat belt in place in an accident so you don.t hit the dash. I have thrown many used canisters similar to that away at the body shop I work at. Just be real careful I don't see a yellow plug like for the airbag so watch any trigger mechanism there might be.

Looks like a seat belt tensioner. They go off similar to airbags and pull the seatbelt taught so you don't hit the dash in a wreck. Never seen one exactly like that. They're usually on the retractor mechanism in the pillar. I guess that's for the center seat?

It connects to the drivers buckle. so im lost... but maybe its something that when the cable pulls taught its activated to pull the buckle ever tighter?

Mu guess is it is just there to keep the cable from pulling out in a crash.. It would have to be able to hold back the force of a lot of weight... just my .02 worth

it is like the retracter for your belt itself. after an accident it must be replaced. for your aftermarket seats you'll have to either buy an entire new seat belt and buckle that doesn't have that safty device or find a ranger that uses the same buckle but not the cartrage. like a modle that is a little older.

Solution: buy a passenger buckle assembly and over engineer the seat brackets for extra safety on and off road. :icon_welder::icon_thumby::icon_cheers:

Thanks again guys!
