ok so heres the deal. my buddy has a 2000 prowler and they only come with 6 bangers in them. after talking to him the other day, he was contemplating having me put a v8 and a stick in it for him. at first it sounded like a great idea to me, but after a while i started seeing the complications with the swap.

-i dont like any of the current chrysler engines, and as its a 2000, gotta make it all eco friendly bs

-front cowl mods for headers as after looking at the car for a while the v6 just barely fits

- interior center console mods, which aint to bad but this guy is picky

- the car is still worth $45k so its not like were cutting apart a civic or anything

so idk guys, what do u think, so i help this guy to this swap? i know itd be badass when its done, but idk if its worth all the headaches, i got enough right now.

Tell him that he can't have a perfect car and a modded car. Then ask him if he really wants it and tell him he's an idiot when he asks for something you already listed as impossible. That's what I do for my friends.

yea, i know you can get the 6.1 in it and the 5.7 hemi in it, but like i mentioned, neither one of us like the new hemi lines, and his choice of engines is either the 4.6 with a mustang trans and 8.8 rear or the gm 5.3 and there stick/ rearend combo

Being that its a 00 you can go with a 4.7 or a 5.9 possibly...?

I think you should do it cause it would be sick, and for the exhaust say screw it and do the shelby cobra style exhaust!

Wow those guys on the prowler site are a bunch of douchebags needing a good bitchslapping for the most part. I dunno how to cool an engine???? Can't be done! Idiots.

But as for your swap... I wouldn't advise it myself... well, actually I would. Just be sure your buddy can't blame you when/if you guys screw up. I have never touched one of those things so I couldn't offer any tech advice besides good luck and I'd love to watch the build.

Ouch! Burnt legs!

What? How? Well... knowing me I probably would shove my leg on the exhaust pipe after a hard drive :icon_twisted:

yea right now were in the r&d process as we just sit round and drink beer and bs about it but knowing him we will prolly wanna bring it to life. and i was thinking today- 2000 camaro 5.7/6 spd combo

2000 camaro 5.7/6 spd combo

Ls1/t56 correct? I like that idea alot better than the 4.6 I think it would be much more worth it in the long run. I found that combo on craigslist locally... tempting me... but about 6k that I didn't have lol

ZR1 turbo engine, torque tube, and a ZR1 6spd transaxle. that will prolly fit the best

You could always go the hot rod style route and have turned up individual pipes. lol

I don't know a 4.6 has a massive top end that i hear barely fits in a ranger a narrow engine bay like that probably cant handle something like it. a 5.0 or something would fit better I would think?

well i actually went and looked at the car tonight, and after about 10 beers, still dont know which route to go. looked at the engine bay and idk i think i could get a 4.6 in need be

You mean the supercharged LS9? That's a 25,000 dollar crate engine!

yea, dont think the zr1 is gona fly. i dont think there is a government motors product out there worth $25k to me, tho i dont think there is a chrysler product worth $5. so itd be better than the hemi
