PlumCrazy's Build

Who makes the manifold block, regulator, and filter?

Manifold is just a generic 3/8 NPT in/out and 1/4 NPT ports down one side. McMaster has them in any configuration you can imagine. I bought the drier/filter and the reg from McMaster as well. I snagged the couplers (1/4 npt male) from work and the rest of the fittings/tube are from McMaster/work/my inventory.lol

Great! Thanks. I just have one fitting on mine right now. I put a new shutoff valve and drain valve on mine, but eventually would like to add a few more fittings and redo the arrangement.

Did you get the filter with the standard drain or automatic drain?

Auto. When enough water builds up it lifts the float and purges. Its pretty touchy. If you tap the top of the housing it will hiss a little air out, I assume it just bounces the float enough to break the seal for a quick second.

I thought about getting the auto tank drain for the compressor, but I have hear horror stories of them getting stuck open (frost build up or ice) and the compressor running non stop all day while Im at work.lol Its easy enough to drain once a week from the petcock.

I routed my power through a 20 amp light switch. It seems to hold air fine, but I have had my other one kick on in the middle of the night scaring the hell out of me since the garage is under my bed room lol.

There is a shut off switch on the pressure control switch, but I don't like turning compressors off because if it leaks down over night, then it has run an extended cycle to fill from 0 - 130 vs just topping off the last 20 psi.

I do shut the ball valve on the compressor so s leaky hose won't cause the compressor to cycle all day

ORTOTM...I feel bad...the truck never moved in October.lol

Congrats. Far better than mine, i think the riding lawnmower has more miles this year than SVT, I've moved it around the property half a dozen times. A couple times i jumped in it to move it around just to remember what it feels like to sit in the seat...

Congrats Plum! You deserve it with all the help you've given myself and countless others.

Well I finally finished reading this whole thing. Very awesome truck along with all the other stuff you've built. Keep up the good work.

Scored an auto condensate drain from work. Its setup for 1-45min intervals and 1-10 sec durations, catch is, it has 24V DC coil. So I picked up a cheap 2A power supply and opened up to add a longer cord and put the right plug on for the coil/timer. Its was a nice one...stainless housing and rated for 5000PSI, but the compressor at work sees 5500 when we are firing big sled pulses, and the coil wasn't strong enough to shut it back off if it tried to purge with pressure over 5K. Still perfectly fine for my intentions.

I added a switched 110V outlet and indicator light to the junction box on the compressor so I can disable the drain if I need to. I also added a muffler with a serviceable filter element. I am going to see how loud it is before I decide whether or not I need to vent it through the wall to outside.

I haven't tested it out just yet, that will be tonight's adventure.

Finished the furnace install and added a power indictor light to it as well. The garage isn't insulated really, so I don't want forget to turn it off and have it kick on and waste propane when I am not home.

Added an outlet above the work bench for a cord reel.

I also rearranged the breaker box so things are more split up and make sense. The garage used to run off one breaker from the house panel before we put the panel in the garage. I finally put a proper power cord on the welder that isn't coarse stranded scraps from who knows what.

My light fixtures should be here today or tomorrow...once they are up...its Ranger time.
