PlumCrazy's Build

I still cant figure out why someone at the jy took the white cluster, but left the Silver bezel, HVAC panel, and gear indicator.

I should have snagged the center console too since they are harder to find than the regular Expo consoles.

Made progress on the doubler today. I used the mill at work to make a new plate since my first attempt ended up with my 5inch hole a hair off. Its perfect now. I just need to counter sink a few holes so I can clock the t case where I want it, then drill the five mounting holes for it.

Then it's time to trim down the plate and put it together.

My first attempt was not a total loss since the bolt holes were all spot on. I can use it as template for future builds, like my buddy's b2. I only had 20 bucks in the chunk of plate anyway.

man, you could make some money selling thoses plates.....

I finally found pin outs for the 95-97 cluster and the 98+ cluster so now I can finally repin my harness to get the cel, door ajar, and speed control light to work properly. I also am going to run wires from the unused "OD off" socket so I can use it as an indicator light for the doubler. Its right next to the 4x4 lights and lights up amber.

Clearanced the front cover of the rear case to clear the bolt heads. I used a roughing end mill to hog it out. Looks cleaner than a grinder imo

I also drilled the pilot holes for the 5 mounting bolts. I plan to counter sink the bolt heads so they sit flush and don't interfere with the front case, and this way I don't have to depend on 5 bolts threaded into only a 1/2 plate. They will actually thread over an inch into the case.

Also picked up this little guy for the 44. I'm waiting until I get chromo shafts before I put it in.lol

I can't wait to get it finished. I need to shorten my rear shaft a few inches, extend the front, make a mount for the rear case, and rethink my trans crossmember to clear the front shaft, and make a shifter setup. Problem is, I have no welder in Jeromesville, so I have find time to drive it back to my parents place south of Cbus and do the install.

I can help you out with that.
You can either use my garage or my buddies. He is on the south side of Jeromesville. I use his 2 post lift all the time while he is out farming haha

Only thing left to add is a drain plug.

Well......I don't know where it goes....or what it does...or if it needs oil or not.....

but it sure looks purdy & stout & good machine work!

Did some repinning. Turns out a pinout for a 96 is different from my 95. The CEL is different, but all is well now. The door ajar and CEL now work. I ran a wire from the blank speed control slot to to the blank pin on the servo. Now it works too.

I also soldered on pigtails to the OD socket in preparation for the doubler. the t case switch just grounds out the light

I found these on Craigs list for dirt cheap. The guy said they were 16.5" x 12" with the 5x5.5 pattern. Which would have been awesome since 90% of the 35" Boggers and swampers around here are for 16.5s I was going to pick up a pair of cut boggers to run as trail tires in the rear.

But....It turns out the guy didnt know how to measure a rim.lol They measure 16.5 overall diameter, but if you measure the diameter the tire seats on, then you find that they are actually 15's.lol

No biggy, Ill still bought them to throw a set of boggers or something on for wheelin'. I may just throw some Ag tires on them.

They used to be white, then tey were spray bombed black and were peeling all over and rusty. The guy had paddle tires screwed on them. I welded the little holes up and sand blasted em down and slung some paint.

I plan to start the install after the Ohio meet on the 10th. The shifters will be the trickiest part I imagine.

I trimmed the cab crossmember and massaged it a little with the sledge.

The speed sensor wires still reach, I need to run wires for the doubler shift sensor still.

I will be making the rear mount, cutting shafts, and trimming the trans crossmember this weekend. I may get the shifters done too.
