i dont really think you will save HUNDREDS of pounds. polycarb. is some heavy duty stuff. (kinda heavy) i work with it once in a white at the machine shop i work at, i dont know if its worth its weight in gold if ya know what i mean

I think there illegal for onroad use do to the fact that you cant break that stuff as easy as glass in case of an emergency.

And it doesn't have the same properties as glass when broken, when it breaks it splinters. ie: side windows shatter (tempered glass) and windshield catches like a net (laminated glass). Could get very ugly if a large stone flew at you on the highway, or in accident situation......

I think you may be thinking about acrylic (plexiglas). I think you'd have a hard time shattering a polycarb window.

CD's are polycarbonate, it splinters when it breaks. Safety glasses are polycarb too, it is hard stuff to break, but when it does it really breaks.

That's true. I usually have a 50/50 success rate breaking CDs. Half the time they just bend in half. I found the most reliable method is to spin them up on the dremel and brush them against the concrete...POOF, where'd the CD go?

i dont think that all the windows weigh much more than 100lbs combined. just take off body panels? or drill thousands of holes in everything? that would lighten it up! jk.
