Please Identify Broken Off Vacuum Hose

When my truck's timing belt broke the other night (2000 Mazda B2500, same as Ranger), I noticed what appears to be a broken vacuum hose. I don't know what it attaches to. Can somebody identify it for me? I have attached two (very similar) pics, with a red arrow showing the broken hose. The hose is gray in color.

Thats the vacuum hose that goes to your heater control valve. Look at your two heater core lines and follow it down to your heater valve. You should see a vacuum actuator on it. That is what it goes to.

It comes from your firewall, under your hvac box. Same place where your vacuum ball supplies vacuum to your A/C.

I bet your dash vents cut off (in Max A/C) at cruising speeds.

You nailed it! I wonder how long that line has been disconnected. My dash vents have always cut out at MAX/AC when the truck is under load, going uphill, cruising speed. It has always bugged me and I could never figure it out. Thanks so much for your reply! I'll check out that video now.
