I have a 1998 ranger extra cab, 2wd, 4 cylinder. I sick of cheap shocks, I wanted something good. I drive in the city, once or twice a month I load my truck with two dirt bike and camping gear. I want a tougher shock for dirt road and a load but good for the road. I had air shocks, I didn't really like them. I was thinking of Bilstein BST HD all around or Bilstein up front and this Monroe Loadleveler for the rear. Anyone know about the Loadleveler? Please let me know if you have any options, thx

I have rancho rs5000s on my truck for a couple moths and they are pretty sweet, the ride is stiffer and better to me and they are not to bad on the wallet.

The rancho I have are way to stiff for what I use the truck for. Bilstein makes some good shocks, I would stay away from Monroe. Spend the extra money and get what you want.

I have a set of DT8000's on my racer, they look very beefy next to my skyjacker 8000's (have dual on the front). They come with a built in bump stop. They seem like a great shock but i have not run them by themselves so it is hard to say. I wana try bilsteins for my next set. DT also makes a 9000 which from what i hear are very stiff. Has anyone tried Pro-comp es9000's?

I have pro comp 9000 on the front and rancho 5000 on the rear. I would rather have them the other way around but the pro comp's are shorter. IMO, the pro com are stiffer than the rancho.

Go with a decent Bilstein. I have them on the rear and love it. The only reason I didnt get them up front is because they dont make a front shock that would work with the leveling kit

Thanks for all the help. Think I'm going to do billstines all around. and if I need more in the back I'll buy an airbag kit for the leaf springs.
