It is a Mazda, or Toyo Kogyo which is also Mazda. So either way, you have a Mazda.shady

It has a Toyo-Kogyo 5 speed, which is technically a Mazda. Not to be confused with the later (and much improved) Mazda M5ODR1.

i got a fm145 in my 85' 2.8L . the truck is on its 3 tranny tho and who knows. now ya got me wondering.

I have the fm145 in my bronco2, and it came with a 2.8. I see mostly TK's behind 2.0, and 2.3's in the yards around here. Here's a link to the trans ID page in the tech library, check out the pics near the bottom they show the difference in pan designs in the corner.

Its either a toyo or mitsubishi. I bet mitsubishi. Toyo pan is on an angle and mitsubishi is flat. Let us know!

I think the Mazda came in Rangers for the most part while the Mitsubishi came in BII's, the Mazda is stronger than the Mitsubishi and the Ranger has a bed for hauling heavy stuff so you would need a stronger trans, and they are geared a bit differently.
