I have a question, hopefully someone can help me with. I just bought an 01 Explorer. I noticed that after I shut the engine off, I have pinging (Like someone flicking a turkey pan) sounds coming from the exhaust for a few minutes. This didn't worry me much, but yesterday I noticed it's making the same sound when the engine is running and the truck warmed up and idling. It's not loud enough for me to hear when sitting in the truck, which I why I didn't notice it before. Should I be worried?

no. It's just the metal in the exhaust expanding and contracting with the changing temperature.

id inspect, if no leaks or holes found id leave it be. sounds like regular heat expansion/contraction but if you can hear it while its running it never hurts to look.
