hi.. sorry to bother you guys.. but i dont own a bronco neither a ranger.. i am a mustang owner..however i need your help..
i am looking tu install a 373 gear set in my 1984 mustang that has the 7.5 axle.. plain and simple what year should i look for a ranger o bronco ll model..
i read some technical data here in your page but is confusing... just tell me the year and ill go to the salvage yard and get mine... thanks!!

where are you located? i have a 7.5 with 3.73 gears and limited slip i would let go reasonable.

My suggestion is to try the early supercab models. I had two of the '85 shortbeds and they both were equipped with 3.45's. My dad's '87 and my mom's '90 (both supercabs and 2.9s) have the 3.73 axle. He also has a junker '88 bronco II that I'm not sure what it has in it.

Why do you have a 7.5? Is it a 4banger? I would really invest in a 8.8 if you plan to do any engine swapping, Higher than 3.73 and that rear wont hold together with any kinda of drag slick. I have a 2000 with a 3.8l and I swapped out to an 8.8 almost immediately. Also the 28 spline wont do you any good for other than street driving. If you swap to 8.8 you wanna TRY to do 31 spline when you do the swap, Id hold off on the gears.

Any 7.5 axle that has a 3.73 gear will work. What gear do you have now, 2.73, 3.08, 3.45 ? I agree with Froggy though, if you have the GT model put the 8.8 in it the brake you currently have will work as will the axles if the bearing haven't chewed them up from being bad. You will probably spend just as much finding an 8.8 with a 3.27. Then look for a gear for the 8.8.

i dont know what gears do i have all i know is that i have a 1984 ford mustang that has the 5.0 engine ( non h.o. ) and that it has the 7.5 axle that is not trac lock, i believe it would be easier for me to get just the gears for the 7.5 that find the entire 8.8 axle as in my home town there are not many gt's on the salvage yards, but there are many aerostars and rangers!!

ocala4sale.com there are 3-4 8.8's for sale and a shitload of ford 9 inch rearends, spend the money to pick up one of these beefy units and never look back(never look back down the track at the 7.5 parts that epxloded from underneath you I mean.) :-) Also, An 84 with a 5.0 the axle is the same from 79-98 they should all fit for you. 99-04 axles will fit for you as well however they are 3/4 inch longer on either side. All the brake parts with a few exceptions should be interchangeable between the years. If any mods are needed they will be minor. Take it from another mustang guy, if your gonna do this---DO IT RIGHT!!! Its the cheapest way guarunteed.

Frog Is Do It The Right Way And Never Do It Agian. It May Be More Money Now But You Will Have To Do It Once It Is A Pita Not Having Spider Gear Blow Up Dead In Water Put A 9in In It And For Get About It
