My machine shop said they are ok to reuse (original engine had ~100k miles). Just about everything I have read says that I should replace them instead. Since this is my first rebuild, I am confused on whose advice to follow.

If I do get new bolts, can I swap out the old ones myself? I have a small arbor press that might do the trick.

If they're torque to yield bolts they should be replaced, I don't think they would be in a 94 but verify that. The engine I built for my Mustang in 2009 runs stock, original 1986 rod bolts and buzzes to 6000 rpms with no problems.
