Pintoed rangers

What the new Ranger 4 cylinder? It’s turbocharged, it’s direct injection... it’s a strong little motor.
Don't know not sure I want to know because one thing I do know, they are. $20-30K! 😱😱😱

That's a high RPM engine isn't it? like Honda and others?

Not from what I've seen on mine. It typically stays at about 2,000 RPM or lower. Honda recommended 3,000 RPM for my CR-Vs. Believe it or not, it actually got better gas mileage running it that way than shifting at the what we consider the normal range in domestic vehicles.

The ‘02-‘11 duratec 4cylinder is a good motor and makes ok power... If you just want a commuter Ranger that gets almost 30mpg and doesn’t cost $20-30k.

Hmmm, good, better, best?

my '05 2.3 Duratec has 363,500 miles on it, bought it new and used it s a light work truck.
it's a great engine.
I'm thinking 2700 rpms at 70 mph, it's very happy there.
when newer it readily revved to 6500 rpms.

You can quote me on this, engines is goes vroom.

Well I finally gave up finding another ranger, nothing I found is any better than what I have.

I found a Honda Civic I really liked, looked at five or six other civics, went back to the first one I looked at, took it for a ride liked it more, it took it to the shop had it checked out loved it! bought it, now I'm loving it, 2003 EX manual, Vtech! It's minibeast!

Excellent car.
But.

Rust belt is rust belt.

2wd ranger. No. Not in rust belt.

And for the record.

I love pintos.

I don't know why...I just do.

And mustang II,s

And gremlins.......

Fairmonts.....

I'm so old I had a 72 pinto station wagon years later I had it forget what year Fairmont wagon!

Those Vtech engines are fun to drive. Is it I-vtech or just Vtech? Just wondering. At some point, Honda inverted the motors 180* and put the "I" in front if Vtech. It actually helped gain hp.

I put a 351 in my Fairmont.

And for the record.

My first new car was a 77 Mustang II, I bought a 77 Cobra II in 1990 and still have it(13.8@102 in the quarter now), and I owned 3 Pintos that gave me minimal trouble and I sold all 3 for a profit. I'd buy another one today, I just happen to have almost enough parts to build another 302....

I was going to buy a mint pinto a few years back but zoie didn't like it. Baby blue with slotted redline mags. I kicked myself when I said fawk it and went back to get it.

Gone.

Ecoboost 2.0 was my thinking. Ran into another one that needed more work. But wife shut it down.

What I wanted.
