I have a problem. When I inquired about my truck before I bought it, I was told it had a 3.0, but when I got there and popped the hood, it said 4.0. I was thrilled! As I have gotten to know my truck, I have found that someone had alot of fun with it. It has been hit, and rebuilt. The motor has been out at least once, and someone notched the frame to make room for the oil filter....I am curious if this is a 4.0 or not...

Does anyone have a picture of a 4.0?

When you push the throttle does the truck get out of its own way? If so then congrats, you have a 4.0.

try getting the part numbers off your spark plugs and cross reference them with the 3.0 and 4.0 easiest way i could think of, but ive never seen a 3.0, they could look completely different.

If the oil filter is on the driver side it is a 3.0L, if it on the passenger side its a 4.0L.
