Picture request: Let me see your 38's...

I knew what he meant cause a lot around here call them that too.....

i guess the mud guys refer to them as rears, and the rock guys refer to them as axles.....

13in lift, 38.5 TSL SX, 351W:3gears:

why does it matter if everyone knows what is being talked about, if u know the front differential is not a rear, and everyone else knows a front differential is not a rear then why does it matter, sure the term "rears" is used all the time in place of axles

Nomenclature, son. Think about it; it doesn't make much sense to have a "rear" in the front of your truck does it?

Oh well, just thought I'd mention it....

think about it, son.....how much sense does it make to call them axles???? where is the housings at then?? you just riding on axles with no housings?????

btw, just teasing.....

EDIT: Nevermind, it's not worth arguing over...

This is my 89 BII with 38.5" Hawgs. I have a 3" body lift and at least 10" of suspension lift. The rear fenders were trimmed when I got the truck do to rust. The fronts have not been trimmed but the tires have done some custom re-forming of the front fender when I flex. My truck does flex much more than the average one, but even still, I don't think you will fit 38's with TTB and only 9" of total lift. A solid axle is a must, or at least some fender trimming.

I have a friend with an 88 BII, which has the older style fenders. He has 9" of total lift and has come quite close to rubbing with only 33x10 boggers.

Dude, in that 2nd pic you've got plenty of fender clearance.....no way I'll be flexing as much as you do (in that last pic)...my truck is built for the mud and highway...

hawgs always run small, and wiht the rims hes got them on they prolly measure even smaller, looks almost like a 14" rim, ull fit them easy with like a 12" wide rim

we ran 35" hawgs on a 1st gen exploder with ONLY a 3" body lift and leveling coils and a shackle, and that only rubbed at full flex

can you still get a 15x12 in a 5x4.5? It'll probably tear my radius arms off anyway.....

ya u can, i ran them on my first ranger, in combination with my 33" boggers and a d28, only think i ever broke was the passenger side shaft twice, that was in 2 years time of wheelin every weekend

but ud prolly be fine with a 10" rim, with a 3 1/2 or 3" bs

and oh ya, those hawgs on the exploder were on the stock 7" wheels, so thats a 15" wide tire on a 7" rim, so thye measured bigger then 35

it seems like I heard they quit making them cause they were breaking around the lug pattern.....hmmm. might have been just a particular name brand....

it was a particular name brand, u can get the soft8's in a 12" wide rim

Went out and measured my coils and they are a shade under 14". The coils I am installing are 6" coils that measure 17 1/2" (compressed). Will that give me 3" of lift and will the drop brackets handle it? If I can get 3 more inches I know 38's will fit.
