Pics of my 95 Ranger Sittin on 38s

:icon_surprised::shok::icon_confused::annoyed: :icon_rofl:

thats gotta rub
with the 38's your gonna need 4 56 or lower gears imo.
looks good but need to rethink a few things

33s on 3.27s fried my auto trans, daily driving for just under year and weekend wheeling (about 10k miles put on)..

this was in a 97 4.0 with 90k miles, i also put in a b+m aux. tranny cooler..

as everyone else is suggesting, low gears would be very beneficial to you.

The truck looks nice, a little big IMO... These guys aren't suggesting 5.13s just because they can. Especially if you are already re-gearing, it'd be wise to go as deep as possible for tires that size. Your mileage has got to be horrendous with the current setup.

Its a good lookin Mall Crawler I wouldnt take it where my ranger goes thats for sure but then again I wouldnt take most of the guys trucks out where mine gets seat time..

I guarantee if this thing was a stick you would probably not be backing up your gear choice the way you are. Being an auto, you trans is slipping pretty bad to compensate the lack of gearing.

other than that it is a nice looking truck.

the truck it's self looks good ..i'm not a big fan of the lift unless it's an sas.. just my $.02..:headbang:

Regardless of gears or weather or not it rubs when he turns its still a nice lookin truck, to each their own:icon_cheers:

I would have to agree with everyone else, go lower on the gear ratio. I also has a splash 4wd, but its the regular cab model and a 93. Its also got the 3.0 but a 5 spd. Trust me, you'll want lower gears, i was running 36x12.50 tsls on it about a year ago and i could not get that thing goin and keep it in 5th gear for nothin, on the highway i could get it into 5th gear, but just cruisin at 55, 4th gear, didnt even touch 5th it only slowed the truck down. FWIW i was running 3.73 gearing with the 36s. I've got a set of 4.56s waiting to be put into my ranger to give it some help.

Nice looking truck, but I agree with everyone else, needs lower gearing. :icon_thumby:

ok everyone WE ALL DRIVE RANGERS if you want more power then go out and get a V8 or a diesel..... other wise quit with the power shortage thing..... hes not doing all that bad at 38's and 4.10's, i bet he could pull off around 20pmgs on the highway, im not saying he'd get better then 10 in the city though..... ive got 35's and 3.73 and got plenty of power with a 4.0 V6 and can poll off 20-23 on the highway and still have enough power to spin them on command and drive up what i need..... again THEY ARE SMALL TRUCKS

once again the truck looks badazz.................

It's a good looking truck, I will give you that.

Constructive critiscism: From what I can tell, you are running all block in the rear with stock leaves (I pray your not running stacked blocks). You should consider swapping to an aftermarket leaf pack for lift and better off road ability, or do the chevy 63 swap.

I can see how you manage not to tear your front fenders up going down the street, you have stock radius arms. I would highly suggest extended radius arms.

You are still running the stock 2 piece drive shaft, a one piece swap from a 98+ would greatly benefit you from the standpoint of drivetrain reliability.

You need to go lower than 4.10's if you plan on driving that truck daily on the street. What you may have to spend in money now will greatly benefit you in the long run. At least 4.88's to put you back into the realm of grabbing 5th gear. Deeper would be better.

How do you lock in the front axle?

Take the advice or leave it, your choice, but we are just giving you tips to help you and the truck perform as best as possible. Read through the tech library, there is a ton of great information in there that will benefit your off road fun.

+1,000 I totally agree with all of this!!!!!!!!!!! And definately stay with the manual hubs, the auto hubs burn up like a red head in the sun!!!
