Does anyone who has a 1st gen explorer have any good pics of the ignition lock cylinder pin? I cannot find it and need to replace the cylinder in the '94 xlt that I just bought.

should be on the bottom accessible through a little hole in the steering column cover.

turn the ignition to the on position and push the pin while pulling the lock out.

never done one on an RBV but that is how you do them on the full size trucks and the cars. if im wrong you can take the covers off and look for a little BB sized ball to push or it will be an obvious button

No such hole exists on the explorer that i have in my cover. I pulled the upper and lower shroud off, and I cannot find the hole where the pin is..

sorry. i've never done an RBV.... you might have to remove the steering wheel to access the pin.

someone might chime in that knows for sure
