Photos: New babies

Oops, forgot to post this photo of our new Barred owl baby. The mother only had one baby in the nest. We did not know it had hatched yet until I saw the mother come back with food. I climbed up the tree where the nest is and got this shot. Mommy was about 10 feet away watching me. She did not get upset with me since she seems to know us pretty well by now. She has been in the back yard for over 5 years know. We think this is the first hatchling she has had. I did not touch the nest or put my human scent anywhere near the nest.

Here is a photo of snake skin in the closet in the back of our bedroom. I found this just after summer this year. This is the third time in a few years we have found a snake skin in the closet!! It is a black snake and I wonder where it crawled off to....lol. We have never seen one crawling around in the house.

Danielle Boon was a man...was a BIG man...but the bear was bigger so he ran...

I've heard of 'coons' turning on people after a few years...my brother-in-laws father had quite a few of them till one jumped on his nose and bit him...he had a big nose...but that coon was dead within a few seconds of tasting human flesh...

I like them in the wild...

Dunno any men named Danielle...

My mom had a pet racoon growing up, it got really mean after awhile and even started ripping the screens out of the house windows trying to get in.

My dad had a pet possum growing up and one day it took to biting everybody.

Darn the luck they both got lead poisoning? :icon_confused:

That is so odd, Bro. But I have had friends who had them until they died of old age. They never had an issue. I have heard about some that get a bit grumpy with old age, but the fact is, you got to spend a lot of time with them and interact with them everyday. If you neglect them they will get a bit leery of you since you are not there to talk to them and interact with them. The same with neglecting a dog caged of tethered up all day.

:icon_rofl: Good catch...it was actually Denial Boon...or was it Denali?

Sounds like quite a commitment...like marriage...I guess for some that's OK...but for me...set them free...if they hunt you down...kill them...lol
