could someone please tell me how many 1.3mgp photos will fit on 64mb of internal memory? I bought my kids the fisher-price digital camera and Im wanting to know how many of the high res (1.3mgp) photos will fit on the piddly 64mb of internal memory.

At least 50. The image will affect the size of the JPG file.

memory cards cost nothing these days....but that card should hold a decent amount, and it'll teach them to conserve space.

actually its not expandable where as the vtech camera is, how ever since it also has more features, it also has more buttons to confuse my kids........plus I got the fisher price one for bout $25 cheaper.

one more question, what size photo can be printed from a pic with a 640x480 resolution?

one more question, what size photo can be printed from a pic with a 640x480 resolution?

That resolution usually translates to a 3 x 5" picture or 4 x 6 tops...it will look OK on most printers but not have the intensity of a higher resolution image...

I will warn you that what you are asking may seem like a simple question, and the simple answer above should suffice. If, however, you wish to do more or expect more then the matter becomes quite a bit more complex.

I was about to go on about other aspects of image printing (which I tend to do because I spent 8 years doing advanced tech support for Epson and the issues were hardly ever cut and dried simple answers) but will spare you the gory details for now...and if you really want to know more I can point you to a few websites that have explanations for just about everything...but there are others here that would probably like to elaborate on it as much as I do so don't hesitate to ask...

Just keep a simple rule of thumb in mind with images...if you want to print them the higher resolutions are better...if you want to post them on a web page, or make a slide show out of them the lower resolutions are fine...

Hope that helps...

well this is a kids camera. I've been playing with the fisher-price (simple but horrible photo quality) and vtech (more options, better photo quality, but smaller photos). All Im lookn to do is maybe with some of the photos my kids take, print them and put them in a scrap book for them for when they get older. Unfortunately, with the vtech, all the ones at my local stores are the older orange models which doesnt support 2mgp as the new, blue model does.

The horrible image may also be a printer issue...like plugged nozzles, incorrect settings, wrong paper type, or incompatilble third-party inks. Or there may be settings on your computer that cause the printer to not be able to do proper color matching. Just depends on what you're getting and what you have the printer set up to do...like I said, it can become quite complex.

Test the printer to make sure the nozzles are all working, and then check the printer settings and bump them up a notch if possible. This usually results in faster consumption of inks (that can be quite expensive) but the image qualtiy usually increases dramatically...

Since I don't know what you know or what you've tried I can only make suggestions like this...so pardon me if I'm going over stuff you already knew...
