Peterson's Ultimate Adventure

Well besides the obvious motor I filled with mud, I ended up with a dented front driver fender and door. But the tree saved me from a roll, so a dent is ok!! I also broke a set of aluminum lift blocks and had some heating issues on slow crawls after a long road day that ended up in wheeling without a hood to lower underhood temps in general, radiator temps were normal.

Overall, the motor, lift blocks and a few dents and dings. Compared to the rest, I did fairly well. Some of the other guys were breaking ring and pinions, D44 axle housings, driveshafts and axle shafts and a couple of lockers etc.

Pretty hardcore stuff...there were no "easy" trails! :icon_thumby:

The best part was the teamwork and friendship. A great group of folks that treated you like family after meeting just minutes before.

Everybody interested should submit an application and give it a shot. It was a once in a lifetime experience!

I plan on submitting mine, just gotta wait until the truck is done. Glad to see you guys had fun. I remember reading about you locking the motor up, but getting swapped back in in like a day and you were back on the trail.

I noticed that EVERYONE was running the exact same tire. Did they supply you guys with tires or anything?

Yup...Goodyear hooked all of us up with new tires...any size we wanted!

Unfortunately for me, they no longer make 37's in a 15" wheel :bawling:

I had just finished my custom 15" beadlocks and then found out to upgrade to 37's, I needed to be running a 17" wheel.

The 37's would of given me a little better ground clearance and would of been a nice upgrade, but new 35" MTR's are still pretty nice!

At least the 35s seem to be a lot bigger now than the old 35s were.

Did they happen to say why they just up and abandoned such a huge segment of the tire market like that? (can't be a sidewall liability issue like I've seen a couple speculate... Their 40s and 42s for 17s are much taller, even proportionally than a 37x12.50R15 would be) :icon_confused:

I never pick up mags because they are all jeep jeep jeep. But I picked this one the other day and was blow away to see you in it. Congrats

eh, petersens is pretty liberal. They focus on fourwheeling more than anything, they were really focused on jeep for a while, but seems they are opening up a lot more. Fourwheeler is big into Fords too.

I can't complain, they put me in it....lol. I broke 2 hubs, a locker and slightly bent a rear driveshaft and a radius arm. It was a once in a lifetime (maybe twice!) experience and I'd love to do it again.

I'm glad I look this up before I posted a new thread congrates I just got the new issue and was checkin out the rides I immediately reconized the name Wahlstrom and was like holy crap!!! Unfortunately i didn't know who the B2 owner was but I said to myself it would be cool if it was a TRS owner too. Too bad they don't allow anyother decals on the rigs 'cause it would've been cool to plug TRS.

It was pretty cool that they bought another motor for the B2 it it was down. I hope to be able to mee Rick Pewe one day he seems pretty cool from the videos. Although I really didn't like the UA trail truck this year it was awsome to see you guys in it this year and deffinatly looking foward to buying the video when it comes out.

And I thought getting a pic of my old ranger in Jan' 0f 2009 (Page 15) issue was cool.:bawling:

Oh I forgot to ask how was it meeting Tim Hardy and the infomus samari??!! It's like the diehard bunny it just keeps going.

i didnt think they forked the bill for the motor....

No not for say, but Fred Perry of Warn winch started up a collection to buy him a used motor they found a couple counties over then stayed behind to help get it in over night.

That's what it was. I knew they stayed to put it in, but couldn't remember how they paid for it.

The motor was actually purchased from AllanD on the site here, through Jim Oaks.... I started making phone calls when we got back to camp and Jim got me through to AllanD who had one roughly 80 miles away from the park we were at.

Thats awesome! That blazer was pretty sick too.
