Well when i hauled in this piece of crap, the motor was blown and it was in need of help. The body was really straight and nice, just needed a wash and some cleaning. So the other week, i started pulling the motor out and got everything ready for the swap. Tore the old motor down and it looks like it just may have been rebuilt recently. Still had hone marks in the cylinder walls but crank angle sensor took a crap and she lost old pressure. Killed the rod bearings on cylinders 4 and 5. Plopped the new motor in this weekend and got it running last night. Other than the fuel line popping off, it was pretty undramatic. Turned the key and she started (not bad since this was my first newer car motor swap)
And while i had a day off, i installed the fabtech spindles and spring tech springs off of ebay. Did a little research and found shocks that would work with the lift, 98 wrangler in the front and 4wd 01 silverado for the rear if anyone was wondering. Installed blocks in the rear and just got my belltech 6400 shackles for the rear, ill put those in when i have my 2 days off next week. HAd my 32x11.50 bfgs sitting in the garage from my old tacoma and threw those on there to replace the rollers the truck came with.
And now when i get a chance, ill make a front light bar for 4 lights. Hope you guys like my little $500 beater ranger.
