Permanent fix for seizing window motor?

A couple years ago my power window motor (driver's side) got stuck. I removed the door panel and jumped the motor directly from the battery. The motor fired right up, and after that, worked as expected for 2 years.

A week ago it seized again, so I jumped it. Same thing: it worked on the jump, and then continued to work from the door switch. But this time it only worked for about 4 days.

I can jump it again, but if I have to do this every four days it will drive me nuts.

What's the problem here? Do I need a new motor? Something else?

You probably need a new window motor.

Maybe take it apart and see if cleaning the motor bearings (bushings) and gears in it and then lubricating it with say, wheel bearing grease would help. If that fails, then yeah, time for a new one.

sounds like its time for a new window motor.......I personally hate power windows and door locks..... my ranger has manual everything except brakes, just the way I like it...
