I was wondering if an upgrade to performance injectors and fuel pump would do any good on a 3.0 v6?? All input is greatly welcome.

With significant other mods to require more fuel, like supercharging or turbo, increased displacement, etc, then the answer is yes. Otherwise your not going to see any need from say a bolt on mod like an exhaust system, air intake etc.

To make sure that your stock system is doing what it should be is another story, either of these items not performing as they should would diminish performance.

A bigger engine designed to give actual power, rather than a car engine designed for fuel economy is the only worthwhile performance upgrade to a 3.0.

Look at the throttle cable at the gas pedal end, the cable stretches and you no longer have full throttle.

Google: Ranger throttle cable mod

very easy to do

As said above, no, larger injectors won't help stock engine.
Computer controlled engines meter fuel based on air flow(MAF sensor) and exhaust oxygen levels(O2 sensors)
So as long as your current injectors can supply a balanced 14.7:1 air:fuel mix at all RPMs then a larger injector doesn't change anything.

It isn't the same as putting larger Jets in a carb, but it is in some ways.
Putting larger jets in a carb would simply flood out the engine if they were too large.
But if adding a Cam to increase air flow was done then larger Jets could be used.
With Computer control the Cam will increase air flow and computer would see this, so automatically added more fuel to balance the mix, stock injectors would be fine since they can provide more than maximum required.

If you use forced air, like turbo or super chargers then you may need to change injectors depending on the boost(extra air) you will be forcing into the engine.

Thanx for the info. I've been working on putting my truck back to good running condition. Once I get those issues fixed its time to start beefing up, mod'ing all I can, possibly even upgrading on motor size. I'm just trying to figure out what all paths I'm gonna take and how much money I'm gonna burn.

There is "no replacement for displacement"
Larger engines have more power because they can use more air.

A 2.3l engine can use 2.3 liters of air every 2 RPMs
A 4.0l engine can use 4 liters of air every 2 RPMs
A 5.0l engine can use 5 liters of air every 2 RPMs

The more air you can use the more fuel you can add, the more fuel you can add the more power you get.

truer words were never spoken.
go for it! (but not with a 3.0)

There are plenty of ways to get more air into and out of the engine that don't require an engine swap too. As engines get larger, they often get heavier as well, and that's never a good thing.
