performance for the 2.9

thought i would post what i know as of now still kinda new to the 2.9 world.

a coil(msd,accel...) for a fox body stang
msd 6al
msd makes a plug and play harness for the foxbody stangs for the msd al6
4.0 rad

fuel pump
if you have a 85-88 (i think) you have a low pressure pump in the thank with little mods you can put a fox body stang pump in the tank and do away with the one on the frame rail.(i will be doing a wright up on this )

if you have a 89-90 you CAN put a 85-88 sending unit in your tank and us a fox body stang fuel pump(what i have in my 89)

Depending on how much money you want to spend, Morana makes a stroker kit for the 2.9's. It takes it to almost a 3.5 liter.

And on that list I Highly recommend the 4.0 flywheel/clutch swap
and the 4.0-A/T radiator swap but the rest is a waste of time, money & effort.

As for the fuel pump machinations? what exactly are you trying to accomplish?

More fuel delivery doesn't mean more power.

I run in tank pumps because having two pumps (dual tanks) is better
than having three and it simplifies my plumbing.

As for running an early sender unit the dashboards are different and
the senders have the wrong resistance ranges to read accurately,
but considering how often they don't read at all...

mine is out of an 88 and read just fine in my 89

depends on if you are trying to run a s/c or turbo or sumthan on the fuek pump
