hi
ive got a ford ranger 2.5ltr 1998.i am looking to give it some more performance, ive got a full gibson exhaust and k & n fipk which gives a little performance but to me not greatly noticeable,i dont want to do an engine swap, the engine thats in is a good engine and has been very reliable so i just want simpler ideas.i am thinking about a good performance camshaft, does anybody know of a good brand so you can actually notice a decent increase in power?i have no clue what type to get or a good place to order one from so any ideas on that too.
Is it worth changing the standard header to a performance one, they are a lot of money so wondered if its worth doing? same again where to buy?

thanks lee.

you don't have a tube header do you?I think you have a cast one on the 98 if you haven't changed it.Get a 95-97 header as this is compatible with your EGR pipe.Racer Walsh or Esslinger,s has a good roller cam for the street,a stage one is good.A little porting if you can and a drop in rear gear ratio will work wonders also.
