So i have read all of the previous threads and no solution. a few years ago, before i became awesome with my rangers mechanics, i was driving home from school (to visit mom). And the entire time there was the sound of grinding bearings, at the time I had no idea what it was, today is a diffrent story. Not 2 miles from moms house my right front wheel breaks off my truck, destroying my axle, rotor, bearings, spindle, caliper, etc. If it was attached to the knuckle, it was gone. couple hundred dollars later and about a month of stairing at diagrams and reading chilltons and haynes, cover to cover, i had the Danger Ranger :icon_hornsup: back on the road. Oh thats also how i found the TRS. Fait I guess? To this day the dreaded pulsation has not stoped, i perform riggorous service on the front end every summer new bearings, having the rotors resurfaced, every two years new rotors. Everything torqued to spec, even the in/pound requirement. Oh i have the dana 35 with manual locking hubs. You know what i am talking about, 35 ft/lbs, back off quarter turn, then to 16 in/lbs, then washer, then to 150 in/pounds, thrust washer set, snap ring. Any way, its not runout, warpped rotors, loose bearings, caliper malfunction, not any of the usual suspects. So the pulsation is driving me nuts. Please any help would be wonderful. Oh there is only one part i could not find, the spindle seat, so thats not there. Please Ranger and Explorer experts out there, whats your experiance tell you when its not the usual suspects. Also just replaced the rear drums and internal parts, coil springs, front and rear shocks.

THank you for any help!!

Ever rebuilt the differential, or did you just slap an axleshaft in? Could be something there.

If he drives around with his hubs unlocked that won't matter.

Rear brake drums out of round?

are you sure the actually wheel bearings are tight? if you lift up the tire off the ground hold the wheel at 9 and 3 o clock and shake it back and fourth then shake it at 12 and 6 o clock shaking back and fourth. if it feels lose there is a chance the wheel bearing isnt seated all the way or even maybe your spindle isnt seated all the way. the 5 nuts for the spindle are supposed to be torque to 50 ft/lbs.

but i would try what sasquatch said first. drums. have a shop turn the drums and if they cant get new ones and have the brand new ones turned. i cant tell you how many drums and rotors i have seen come off the self brand new with a pulse.
