Hey gents. Drivetrain is in, and all buttoned up. I’m in the final stages of getting this turd running.

non pats engine into a pats body. Yes, I knew this would be a bridge to cross eventually.

turn key, fuel pump primes. Touch starter signal wire to power, and she’ll crank/fire. Only fires for about a second, though.

I understand that a dealer will need to reprogram the pats to the ecu, could it be cutting fuel and ignition, or perhaps just fuel?

anyone done their own pats bypass? I’m not fixed on keeping pats if there is a simple solution, but also Ok with going about it the dealership way.

Thanks!

What year?

If it's a non pats ecu...just run its own pump feed direct from relay through inertia right to pump.

Thanks, Bobby!
Mountie donor was a 97, ranger is a 00. Went M5R2 for the trans, but that harness is plugged in and in P.

Is the coil pack getting run power?

The fact the pump runs and it cranks I would think the pats is fine.

You are sure there is constant power to eec and coil....and fuel pressure is correct?

+1 on ^^^^

Not a PATS issue if engine computer is 1997 model

You may need to manually ground the Starter relay in the engine bay fuse box if using the 2000 Ranger box
To get key to start engine

And the wire for that is above Ranger glove box in 2000, on the PATS module
