just curious who everyone goes to when they need parts. im a parts guy myself and have worked at a few different parts places in the last 10 years including a dealership. now im at a place called autopart international which is owned by advance. :icon_confused:

I work at Napa. I don't usually need parts (my vehicles never break down :thefinger:) but if I do I obviously buy there. I get an insanely good discount.

Advance Auto. Good customer serivce and parts are usually readily avaivable.

Wherever my uncle orders his parts from, he's a mechanic (NAPA, Crow Burlingame, or the dealership if he has no other choice) i get them at his cost.

I shop between carquest, napa, and a local place called eastern imports who sell parts for japanese, korean vehicles etc. On sensors such as crank, cam, and some others I go to dealer only! I have pulled both new CQ, and Napa sensors out of the box, put them in and the vehicle won't crank, got one from the dealer a start right up. This has happened to me over a half dozen times so I quit using them.

NAPA for oddball fasteners, and brake hardware (they seem to have more new brake stuff at better prices for some reason). Advance for rebuilt parts (I only buy the premium fully rebuilt stuff, not the cheap lines). Occasionally I'm forced to go to the dealer for something.

Oreillys for most things. Napa for those oddball fasteners and such. My uncle is the parts guy at the local dealership and i get things from him on occasion. He gave me my rims when I first got my truck!

See my O'Reilly rant for more details about that place....

I really like CarQuest, they are pretty helpful and prices are pretty good.

It depends on where I am. I work at the dealer so I get a lot of parts cheap from them. If I'm at school I go to Napa because I get a deep discount from them through school. If those aren't options I go to advanced. If all else fails I go to CQ because every so often they are the only ones who can get parts for my car.

Depends on what I need and who has it...
Napa - tends to be over priced and the ones around here aren't knowledgeable or helpful.
Autozone - They know me on first name basis and tend to have what I want and give me employee pricing on stuff.
O'Riely - Just bought Murray's, they seem to have kept the same knowledgeable people they've had for years, selection and stuff seems about the same, they just aren't the closest place 99% of the time.
Advanced - Just opened, never been there since it's on the other side of town.
Rockauto - big ticket items, like hubs/bearings that they sell for 1/2 the price of anyone else and stuff I don't need right away so I can wait for a cheap price.

Auto Part International is owned by Advance. Good products. I thought it was a good move when they bought them. It helps me with added import coverage when I sell to the shops.
