I have an 08 sport that I recently wrote off (hit a guard rail, passenger side got the grunt of it) :bawling:
On the plus side of this, I need a new front suspension. I was thinking, since its already messed up, why not rebuild as a prerunner-ish ranger.
The frame on it is still straight, the mechanical damage was limited to a bent upper control arm, bent inner and outer tie-rod ends a bent shock and a lower ball joint that separated.

I don't really need a long travel kit, was looking at the camburg 6.0 entry level kit. Are there any other similar kits out there?

Torsion Bar front? The Camburg system is nice. Check out the link in my sig, I'm running the dual shock one, and I run my truck through the desert just as hard as the coils/beam trucks.

You definitely want the UCA gussets, and i'm running the subframe connector.

If you have coils there are a lot more options.

Robby, the "sport" Rangers are the same as the "edge" models. Ford changed the name when the Ford Edge suv was released so that people wouldn't get confused.

To grey, the Camburg 6.0 kit is a great kit, they even raced on it when they still had their Ranger. The new owner is still racing on the same kit with no problems other than driver errors. If you do go that route, get the dual shock kit. it makes a big difference, the extra shock prevents the shocks from fading as fast. also, check out dezertrangers.com. there are always parts for sale, people building up the same model truck, and advice about suspension options if you search for it

I'll keep an eye on dezert rangers for a bit, but shipping and duty/taxes are gonna hurt. Plus most people aren't willing to ship to Canada. Bajanorth sells the kit as well, but it comes at a premium over the list US price, which means I'm a few bucks short for now. I'm definatley gonna go for the dual shock kit, it'll be overkill for anything I'm gonna use it for... For now.. Hehehe

Its a great kit. Check and see if anyone in your area can do shock tuning or start learning though. Mine needs a tune at the moment.
