part numbers on relays

I think the fog lamp relay on our 94 ranger is bad. I was in a local boneyard today and saw a number of relays I could get for a couple bucks a handful, but the part numbers are a bit off what it says on mine. The existing relay says Ford 14B192-AA and has 3245-3 in front of that. The relays in the boneyard have the 14B192-AA number, but the other numbers don't match perfectly. I was looking at relays off a 92 and 93 Explorer.
Q--what does the 3245-3 stand for?
Q--will another relay that fits with the same 14B192-AA number work, or is it dangerous to fool with relays?
Any Ford part number gurus in the house?

If the relays look the same, they will work. Ford has many different numbers depending on year and even vendor that made the part. The 3245-3 is likely an engineering reference number.

The relays must be able to carry the same amperage as the original. Other than that, most any relay of the same configuration will work.shady

Is there anything written above the 14B192 base number? Some like F0TE or something? I thought I always remembered a prefix on there too...

The fog lamps should be among the lowest amperage in the whole truck as far as relays are concerned. No worries there.

when I looked close at each relay, it seems they are 30 amp, or at least the number 30 appears on both, and they seem to fit the holes. I will try one and find out if it works.
