My credo
What's the worst that could happen?
As I'm poking around underneath while removing and replacing the negative battery cable I see this piece inside the frame rail with lines going to it.
I pulled the fender and the liner to get a better view and better access to the battery cable attaching point cause I didn't want to just cut the cable and run a new one. Glad I did as there are other things that need to be looked at

Here's the part in question:

That is the ABS Solenoids. From the looks of it you only have RABS. It has the valves in it that make the brakes pulsate.

RockAuto has it listed as ABS Hydraulic Unit.
OReilly Auto Parts has it listed as ABS Hydraulic Unit also.

That's what I thought, but when I did a quick look at RA as well it showed a small electronic control box thingy. Thanks B

Yep, RABS module. probably doesn't work lol... mine has not worked for over 18 years.

It has electrical parts to it. It uses electrical signals to control solenoid valves, which control hydraulic pressure to the rear brakes when skidding is detected during a hard braking situation.

My F350 would get squirrely here and there and lock up the rear brakes and get real dumb, I unplugged that guy, I think it's more to do with air in the front calipers since it had dumb bleeders with check valves (well, still does, I have new bleeders to replace them...) and they point vertical and did NOT have caps on them... I made it usable two trips ago, it's on the list...
