is there a special tool that spreads the springs and cable end on a parking brake cable so that you can hook it on that little tab in the drum?
Ive tried every damn thing from needle nose to screwdrivers. WTF:icon_confused:

You may need to disconnect the cable where it joins just in front of the axel...that is the best way since that connector is adjustable...

I just grab it with a pair of needle-nose vise-grips. Clamp it down GENTLY so you don't squash the spring and pull.

You can compress it enough with boths hands, but you need someone to hook it into the bracket. May I recommend a father-in-law (worked for me).

Also keep him around, cause after you realize you put it in the opposite way, you will need him around to put it back together the right way (from my own experience).
